The client wanted a range of high-performance entertainment systems throughout the lodge while preserving the character of its traditional Highland architecture. Technology needed to support modern living and serious music listening without detracting from the carefully considered interior design.

The property required a collection of distinct entertainment and listening environments throughout the lodge, ranging from relaxed family viewing spaces to dedicated high-fidelity music systems. Each space needed to offer its own character and purpose while remaining straightforward to use for residents and guests alike.

Success depended on delivering exceptional performance throughout the property, with every system tailored to its environment. Whether supporting casual viewing, immersive entertainment or serious music listening, each solution needed to achieve the appropriate balance of scale, refinement and usability.

The principal media room was designed around an 85" Sony Bravia display mounted on a Future Automation articulated bracket, allowing the screen to be positioned for optimal viewing. A Marantz AV receiver, bespoke James LCR soundbar and dual M&K subwoofers deliver a highly engaging cinematic experience while remaining sympathetic to the room's interior design.

The games room was conceived as a more informal media environment, centred around a retained 75" Samsung display. A Marantz AV receiver, Bose surround loudspeakers and Bowers & Wilkins subwoofer combine to deliver a dynamic and enjoyable entertainment experience for everyday use.

Despite serving different purposes, both entertainment systems share a consistent control experience. Crestron integration brings displays, audio and source equipment together within a single interface, providing simple and intuitive operation through handheld remote controls.

A dedicated listening environment was created within the library, centred around Spendor Classic loudspeakers in a cherry wood finish and a Naim Uniti Star streaming amplifier. The system was selected to complement both the character of the room and the client’s preference for relaxed, engaging music listening.

The principal reception room called for greater scale and authority. ATC SCM50ASL passive loudspeakers in a pippy oak finish were partnered with a Naim NSC 222 streaming preamplifier and NAP 250 power amplifier, delivering exceptional clarity, dynamics and musical realism within the lodge’s primary entertaining space.

A dedicated analogue playback system was specified around the Clearaudio Performance DC turntable, Tracer tonearm and Talismann V2 moving-coil cartridge. Paired with a dedicated phono stage, the system delivers the level of precision, detail and musical engagement expected of a true high-end audiophile setup.

Behind every system lies a carefully engineered infrastructure. Premium cabling, high-quality connectivity and meticulous attention to detail ensure the reliability, performance and longevity expected of a high-end installation.

No detail was overlooked in the integration of technology throughout the lodge. From material selection to finish specification, every visible interface was carefully considered to ensure modern functionality was delivered with complete respect for the property's timeless Highland character.

The success of the project relied as much on what could not be seen as what could. Equipment, cabling and infrastructure were carefully concealed wherever possible, allowing the architecture, interior design and listening experience to take centre stage.
