Work Overview
Following previous collaborations across the client’s London and Sussex properties, Peerless Automation was invited to oversee the audiovisual design for this newly rebuilt lodge at Scaliscro on the Isle of Lewis.
The original structure had been completely demolished and reimagined. The architectural intent was to retain a traditional Highland aesthetic while incorporating technology that would sit quietly within the fabric of the building. Every system was designed to complement the interior, delivering performance without visual intrusion.
The brief centred around creating a dedicated media room alongside a series of high-fidelity music systems throughout the property, each tailored to the character and function of its respective space.
Technology was to be fully integrated without compromising the traditional Highland aesthetic of the lodge.
The property required a range of systems, from casual viewing through to serious audiophile listening.
Each system needed to deliver exceptional performance appropriate to its environment, without overstatement.
Despite the technical capability, operation needed to remain intuitive and accessible.

A Sony Bravia 85” display was mounted on a Future Automation articulated bracket, allowing the screen to be positioned for optimal viewing. Surround sound was delivered via a Marantz AVR, paired with a bespoke James soundbar and M&K subwoofers, creating a focused and immersive media environment.
An existing 75” Samsung display was retained and integrated into a more informal entertainment setup. A Marantz AVR was combined with the client’s Bose surround cube speakers, supplemented by a Bowers & Wilkins subwoofer to enhance low-frequency performance.
Both systems are managed via a Crestron, with handheld remote control providing simple and intuitive operation.
